Photo Tips

The best photographs will be those taken in natural light (outdoors) although indoor photographs are acceptable, provided there is plenty of light. A dark photograph makes for a dark portrait. Try to take the photograph at the same eye-level as your subject, with the head and shoulders filling as much of the frame as possible, without distorting the subject. This gives me better detail to work from.

However, I do understand that some photographs might be of people or pets who are no longer with us. In these cases I will do my best with what you provide.

This is a good, clear photograph, with high resolution, taken in strong daylight which enhances the contrast between light and shadow. The subsequent portrait appears on the Gallery page for you to see the results.

Although this is a clear photograph, the resolution is not as good. However, the main drawback is the fact that it was taken indoors using the camera’s flash. This takes away the contrast between light and shade and makes the image rather “flat”. The subsequent portrait appears on the Gallery page for you to see the results.
